Sustainable Gardening

In Green Victoria we are conscious and take very seriously the environmental challenges we are facing, such as climate change and biodiversity loss. As an organisation we want to be part of the solution to these problems by encouraging sustainable practices and principles in our gardens. Some of the actions we can take are:

• A preference for organic products for pest control and fertilising, when possible.

• Designing water sensitive gardens by choosing native species and plants with low water requirements

• Including compost systems in your gardens to reduce waste and improve the quality of the soil

• Innovate with different styles of gardens, such as Micro-forests, that encourage wildlife, biodiversity and carbon storage

Our philosophy is that a garden can look good and do good at the same time.
